Painting > Havana Series

These paintings are mixed media on paper and were made as a result of several trips to Havana in the late 1990's. At the time I took many photographs, and I wanted to capture the feeling of Havana. Collaging the photographs and then using them as the starting point for the paintings seemed to capture the feeling of Havana better than the photographs alone.
